Darklight


There lit a flame of darkness in a palace of light.
 Though fierce,
 it was one whose warmth could not bring delight.
Its shadow, indeed, knocked birds out the sky,
 yet it only tried to lift them up high.
They called it danger, showed it anger,
 then asked why it burnt so deep.
They tried to calm its fury.
 The fire is out.
Sleep, sleep…
